Dear Parents, Students,
You may ask, what is Restoration Academy? Restoration is a fully accredited K-12th grade private Christian school in Fairfield, Alabama. It is a school which has enjoyed over 20 years of steady growth in every area. It is a school which endured many struggles in its early years, but has grown into a completely viable educational option for students across the city of Birmingham.
I have worked at Restoration for over 13 years, and it improves each year. You can click on the Academics tab for more about the educational distinctives of Restoration, but as a parent who has seen all three of his sons raised through Restoration, I consider it to be one of the finest schools in the entire metro area.
Many over the years have misunderstood the name, "Restoration Academy." Many have asked, "is your school a school just for troubled kids?" The answer is most certainly not. The name Restoration Academy was created by our founder, Dr. Anthony Gordon. Dr. Gordon created the name based on Isaiah 58:12 which says, "Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings." Many schools ,while encountering struggles, lower their standards for their students. Restoration consist of students who are required to hold a standard of excellence in their academic progress as well as their behaviour. The results of that standard is obvious. Every student who graduates from Restoration gains acceptance to college. Restoration works tirelessly to meet students at the point of their need and propel them to their first day on a college campus.
Restoration is structured in such a way which makes it affordable for many who otherwise would not be able to afford private education. It has partnered with both single and two parent homes all across the city in many different ways. Restoration's community involvment has made it one of Fairfield's most influential community entities. Over the past seven years, Restoration and its athletic programs have grown tremendously. Restoration is accustomed to competing for championships every year, and has seen every senior accepted to college over the past five years. Most of those seniors have received scholarship money which includes scholarships for athletics.
Many times, athletes have questions about, "exposure." Many students misunderstand the entire recruiting process. RA has had athletes recruiting from every level, including S.E.C schools. I can hondestly tell you that I have never been asked, "what level do you play? 1A, 2A, 6A?" Coaches are well informed and understand talent when they see it-no matter the level at which you play. They only care about your talent, character, and whether or not you will be academically eligible.
