RA is uniquely touching lives of students all across the city of Birmingham.  RA meets children at the point of their need through a rigid academic program taught be highly qualified teachers and supported by a huge network of tutoring volunteers.  RA is fully accredited.  RA works hard to prepare every student for college and has enjoyed major success in that endeavor as demonstrated by all of its seniors being accepted to college for the past four years.

Reading/Math Empasis	Every student reads 7-9 novels a year during reading labs which is a part of the RA curriculum.  Students comprehension levels improve 2-3 years per year on their SAT.  Math students continually score high in Math on both SAT and ACT.  Math labs and tutoring are also built into the RA currirculum
Safe Environment	RA has created a culture of discipline which allows students a safe environment
Princeton Review	RA uses the Princeton Review Program to prepare students for ACT.  Students are required to use the program at no cost to the students.
Small Class Room Sizes	Close to 300 students attend RA; however, there are no combined grades.  This allows small classroom sizes.
Tutoring	Free tutoring is available to students who need it at no cost.  Tutoring is provided through our large volunteer tutoring program.
Accredited	RA is fully accredited by the same associations as public schools, (SACS) as well as AISA and ACSI.
