RA will begin JV football in 2010!

RA will begin JV football in the fall of 2010.  RA's growth will allow us to now have JV as well as Varsity football.  "I believe this is the next step for our program at RA," said Coach Coker.  "We can now add our football philosophy academically, athletically, and spiritually to the middle school level.  This will great enhance our kids opportunities to become successful."  More details will come soon!  Please stay tuned to this website and frequently visit the junior varsity football page for regular updated information.

Spring Game Scheduled for May 13th!

RA will be playing in Bessemer Academy's Spring Jamboree on May 13th.  RA will face Bessmer Academy and Tuscaloosa Academy.  The exact time will be announced later.  Make your plans now to come and support the Bulldogs

RA Finishes 2nd in State Finals!

RA lost a tough game to Warrior Academy on February 18th.  The Bulldogs fell behind early and was not able to recover.  RA had its poorest shooting night of the year in the loss.  However, the Bulldogs end the season with an outstanding 26-2 record.

DQ Woodruff Signs With Faulkner University!

DQ Woodruff ended weeks of speculation Wednesday by signing a football scholarship with Faulkner Univerity.  DQ signed his scholarship in front of Fox 6 cameras as well as family, students, and friends.  Congratualtions DQ!

James Thomas is Birmingham Tipoff Club Player of the Week!

James "snoop" Thomas was awarded "player of the week" by the Birmingham Tip-off club this past week.  Snoop received the award at the tip-off club weekly luncheon.  Snoop was accompanied by his coach, Robert Pritchett, at the event.  "I was very impressed with the whole thing," said Pritchett.  In addition to the presentation of the award to Snoop, UAB head coach, Mike Davis spoke at the event.

 

Senior Jessica Smith Leads Lady Bulldogs to Best Season Ever!

Senior, Jessica Smith, saw her team have its best season ever.  The lady bulldogs lost to Cornerstone, but only after they made the elite 8.  The Lady Bulldogs recorded the most wins in the history of girls basketball at RA.  Coach Williams is excited about the future and looks forward to the off season.

   

Courtney Foy Nominated for Player of the Week by Birmingham News!

Courtney Foy was one of five players from across the metro to be nominated for player of the week by the Birmingham News.  The five players were selected from all classifications across the city.  You can read the nominations at Birmingham News

Once Again!  All senior athletes going to college!

For several years now, all senior athletes have been accepted to colleges across Alabama and the south.  All of them have been awarded partial or full scholarships through academics or athletics.  As we look forward to the upcoming 2010 class, once again, we look forward to all our athletes going to college. 

Record Crowd Watches RA vs. Bessemer Academy



It was easily the largest crowd to ever watch Restoration Academy play.  It was the first ever meeting between the two schools; however, it will not be the last as a new rivalry is born through a very exciting game.  RA lost 28-24 as Bessemer scored with fifty two seconds left.
